Google’s Compliance Status Dashboard in Postmaster Tools gives operators a useful domain-level risk check. It can show whether selected Gmail sender requirements are Compliant, Needs work, or No data found. Treat that status as an early warning—not as proof that every message reaches the inbox.

Read the dashboard as a domain-level warning
The dashboard is available to senders that deliver messages to personal Gmail accounts, including bulk senders. Google defines a bulk sender as a sender that sends about 5,000 or more messages to Gmail accounts in a 24-hour period.
Compliance Status covers requirements such as SPF and DKIM authentication, DNS records, message formatting, encryption, and user-reported spam rates for all senders. For bulk senders, it also reports on DMARC authentication, one-click unsubscribe, and whether unsubscribe requests are honored.
The result applies to the primary domain, not to each subdomain separately. Activity from subdomains can contribute to the primary-domain result. For example, marketing email from news.example.com and store email from shop.example.com may influence the status reported for example.com.
- Compliant: Google’s available data indicates that the requirement is being met. It is not a guarantee of inbox placement for every message.
- Needs work: Treat this as an active investigation. Identify the affected requirement and sending system before changing DNS or plugin settings.
- No data found: Google could not evaluate the requirement from qualifying data. Low Gmail volume and privacy filtering can limit the available data, so this is not automatically proof of failure.
Postmaster Tools data is not real time. Google says dashboard data is typically updated within 24 hours, but changes to Compliance Status can take longer and may take up to seven days to appear. The dashboard also covers personal Gmail traffic; it does not represent every mailbox provider or necessarily reflect delivery to business-domain recipients.
What to do next
- Verify the primary domain in Postmaster Tools. Record the current status, affected requirement, and date of the latest available data. Review both Compliance Status and Deliverability analysis.
- Inventory every sender. List all systems that can send as or on behalf of the domain, including WordPress, WooCommerce, the web host, SMTP plugins, transactional providers, CRMs, help desks, billing tools, and marketing platforms.
- Prioritize legitimate DKIM configuration. Google recommends that third-party sending services use DKIM for your domain, with a unique DKIM key and configuration for each service. - Verify unsubscribe processing. Promotional and subscription messages should implement RFC 8058 one-click unsubscribe using the
List-UnsubscribeandList-Unsubscribe-Postheaders. Google says unsubscribe requests should be honored within 48 hours. Check provider logs and server-side processing, including whether Cloudflare, a firewall, webhook failures, or application errors block the request.
Use the dashboard to identify where the domain may be exposed. Use message headers, provider logs, DNS review, inbox tests, and application testing to determine which WordPress or WooCommerce sending path actually needs repair.
